Huawei builds 10,000 kms National Long Distance backbone for VSNL

The backbone network spread across India spanning over 100 cities has been built using Huawei's state-of-the-art Next Generation DWDM products & solution based on its "Super WDM" platform. In its fully equipped state, the offered "Super WDM" system is capable of providing bandwidth of the order of 1.6 Terabits. The project mandate for Huawei also includes provision of Managed Services - a first in India by any fixed network operator. Huawei landed this project for turnkey supply of "10Gb, Multi-reach, Ultra Long Haul DWDM" optical transmission equipment in July 2006.

Bangalore, September 13, 2007 :Huawei Telecommunications India, the Indian subsidiary of Huawei, a global leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators worldwide today announced that it has built a 10,000km optical transmission National Long Distance backbone for the Tata Group owned VSNL, the world's largest provider of wholesale International voice services.
